Why per attachment instead of a subscription?

Most accountants and small businesses only need a Xero backup at specific moments: an audit, a subscription change, year-end, or a one-off export. A subscription would charge you every month for an action you take once or twice a year. Per attachment means you pay for the data you actually export, with a £10 floor for tiny jobs and the curve flattening toward a £300 ceiling for very large ones.

If you are one of the businesses that does want it every month, you can prepay for a period of backups on a single invoice instead. That is still not a subscription: it is one forecast charge for the period, and it is what enables scheduled backups. It is also how several Xero organisations are grouped onto one invoice rather than paid for separately, where the combined volume can attract a discount. Get in touch and we will quote it.
